Subjects that I have covered to date can be found under the Tools or Techniques, at the top of this page.
Cabinet making involves the use of very sharp tools. Appropriate safety measures and great care must be taken
when using these tools, to avoid any injuries being caused. I take no responsibility if injuries are sustained.
Do you want to cut dovetails by hand, but are not sure how to achieve excellent results?

To assist me in presenting information, some of the material I will be providing, will be in the form of models that you will
be able to download. I have created these in a software product called Google SketchUp, a very user friendly piece of
software. It is available completely free of charge providing you do not use it for commercial purposes. This can be
viewed at www.sketchup.com. I am also a member of a very friendly and helpful forum that can be found at
www.sketchucation.com Look for the menu bar for Forums, and select SketchUcation Forums.

The box that appears below, gained me a second place, in the trained amateur category at the Furniture & Cabinet making magazine, annual competition, in 2003.
Quote from the judges:- ‘This rather finely dovetailed English Oak jewellery box with three drawers is a lovely example of 'dovetails at their best’
